Convenient location within 2 minute walk from the train station, also nice minute stroll to Matsumoto castle with restaurants and shops on the way. Small clean room with comfortable bed but awful pillows. Our room was facing the train tracks which we personally found nice and relaxing sound, some might think the opposite.
Reception staff was very friendly and helpful assisting us with restaurant booking. It is very convenient to the train station as the name implies. It is also a short walk to the castle and there are plenty of restaurant options in the area. Although Matsumoto isn't a hot spot on the Japanese tourist map, it is well worth a visit.
The only disappointment in this hotel is the lack of wifi in the room. Nice typical Japanese business hotel, very close to Matsumoto JR Station and the bus station so a perfect place to book on your first or last night in town, small rooms of course , twin rooms are OK for size but more expensive, semi-double beds are a bit of a challenge for western physiques!
Nice helpful staff, excellent communal bath area on floor 7. Pricing is OK, stacks of cheap but good restaurants within easy walking distance, very close to the CBD of what is a really nice and charming small town Pros: Great reception staff. The lady at the front desk remembered us when we had to return a second day and asked on our health.
Wifi in rooms. Close to the train and bus station. Ok walk to castle and tourist area. Onsen on site that was very clean and better than using the ensuite. Cons: Sheets were a bit worn and rooms a bit out-of-date. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station. Although the front desk is wonderful with directions, etc. But at 3 PM our luggage had already been taken to our room.
