You cannotI repeat--you cannot beat the value for the price. We were amazed! It is what it is. It's cheap and very very basic, but clean and the reception staff very helpful. The manager was available to answer questions and spoke good English. Unfortunately however much advice they gave us, couldn't get the shower to produce any hot water, not even lukewarm! Great little Turkish restaurant next door run by the brother of The Deniz Manager at the time of our stay. Again, he spoke good English and the staff where very helpful and polite and the food good value for money.
The Deniz Hotel is located within easy walking distance of Ankara's main historical sights, on the southern edge of the older part of the city Ulus. It is certainly not a luxury option.
The building has seen better days although the rooms are clean and comfortable enough, if basic, with functioning en-suite showers. The staff are helpful and polite, the manager speaks good English. A good traditional Turkish breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant - again, the staff there are friendly and helpful. Sleep may be disturbed by a mosque very close by. But all in all as budget hotels go, and in a city which does not have a major tourist trade, Hotel Deniz is a perfectly good option.
THIS one is a prostitute hotel. The girls in the lobby looks sick, and dirty, and are serving their custimiers, in rooms next to yours. Carpet so dirty that you keep your shoes on at all time. I was leaving after one night , we booked 2. Our room had just had painted the walls and smelled of paint.
