There are hundreds of unmarried western couples staying at hotels every day without raising eyeborw of the hotels or asking any question. It is normal and accepted. Jordan is a big little city now-a-days progressive and somewhat open minded. Alot of hotels to choose from. I met the girl while diving Aqaba. She was staying at one place and I at another.
We got to talking and she was complaining about the crowds at her hotel. I invited her visit my hotel the next day because it had a really nice pool and beach - we walked in together and I was showing her to my room so she could change. I had actually given her the key and told her to go change in my room because I didn't want to be too forward. But we were stopped by the hotel staff in the lobby - who demanded to know why she was going to the room.
After explanation they said it was forbidden, then that they needed to have her passport, then that she needed to authorize a credit card deposit too! To go to my room and change? Needless to say she felt like a criminal - and we did not have the poolside date or another scuba day together.
Aaaah so this is actually a brand new question, pastaman you sly old dog! I know hotels in the UK that would do exactly the same thing - it sounds just like it wasn't very well dealt with by that particular hotel. Wouldn't be a Jordan thing i don't expect but a Jordanian on here might correct me. Hotels guests must report visitors entering their room for security reasons to the reception not to forget for revnue reason as well. Can you imagin if a guest sneaks in 2 or 3 of his mates to sleep in the room with paying Im not suggesting that your intention was.
