One little correction, there are 3 water taxi companies going between Almirante and Bocas. Taxi 25, Bocas Marine Tour I usually use this one because it drops you off on the main street in Bocas downtown so it is easier for me , and a third one whose name I forget. They are all the same price. I did this about 10 years ago. Sounds like the journey hasn't changed except I went to a boat marina near finca 65 closer than Almirante.
I hear that option is no longer available. That "funny bridge" was quite an experience crossing. If you are afraid of heights, don't look down. It was one of the greatest trip adventures I've ever been on. The boat ride to Bocas was glorious. That water taxi option is closed but there are a couple tours from Bocas which go up the Snyder brothers canal which was that jungle ride looking place that the water taxi went through.
There is a new bridge right next next to the old bridge but it is for auto traffic only, all walking must be done over the old bridge, thankfully. It seems like it is in worse and worse shape, fun.
Thanks for these detailed instructions! I just did this going from Panama to CR and it was quite the adventure. One major lesson I learned. The woman there didn't do that for half the people on our bus and we had to run back over the long, tricky bridge again to get it. No fun in degree sun with luggage! We learned that this is not an unusual situation, so just be aware that you need that sticker and save yourself some frustration :.
